Computing

‘A high quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.’ National Curriculum

At Gillespie we strive to achieve this in our computing curriculum by ensuring that the teaching and learning program is linked effectively to subjects across the curriculum including maths, science and design & technology. We use the Purple Mash computing scheme of work which integrates online safety lessons across each term through key stage 1 and key stage 2. The Purple Mash scheme progressively teaches computer science programming and coding through key stage 1 to key stage 2 and enables related ICT learning so children can apply computer skills across the curriculum.
