The School Day

A typical school day at Gillespie Primary School

 

  Times Information
School starts 8.55 Children make their own way to the classroom. Teachers will meet them and greet them.
Registration 8.55 – 9.05 The register closes at 9.05.Late arriving children to go to the office to be registered.
Assembly

10.10 – 10.30

Children take their coat into assembly and sit on it. Hats and hoods are not to be worn in assembly.

MONDAY – whole school (bottom hall)TUESDAY – Years 4,5 & 6 singing assembly (top hall), Years 1,2 & 3 playtime WEDNESDAY – Years 1,2 & 3 singing assembly (top hall), Years 4,5 & 6 playtime

THURSDAY – class assemblies

FRIDAY – Sharing assembly (bottom hall)

Morning play time 10.30 – 10.45 From whole school assemblies children go out to play
Lunch time

Rec – 12.00

Yr1 – 12.05

Yr2 – 12.10

KS2 – 12.30

For all classes, lunch time ends at 1.30 pm

Children walk down to the bottom hall.

At 1.30 pm teachers collect the class from the playground and walk back to the classroom

Registration 1.30 – 1.40
School ends

3.30

(Where children have not been collected by 3.40 they will be brought to the office

Children are brought to the playground by their class teacher. Some children go to Elizabeth House (after school club) and are met by workers waiting in the playground other go to clubs within school. There is a clubs list in the office if you are unsure.

A few children in years 5 and 6 have permission to walk home alone (from their parents).
