01 May Golden Hinde Trip

This term, we have been learning all about explorers! In English, the children have written their own explorer themed stories and they have found out lots of information about famous explorers such as, Christopher Columbus, Sir Francis Drake and Tim Peake.
As part of our ‘Explorers’ topic we went on a visit to the Golden Hinde. The children learnt lots about what it was like to live on board a real galleon! We found out lots of exciting facts about how the crew, ate, slept, fought and explored the world!
Did you know that the floor was painted red so that the crew wouldn’t feel queasy when they saw blood during battles?
How gruesome!
